UMKC’s partnership with the Royals began in March.

Students have less than two weeks left to purchase tickets for the second annual UMKC Night at the K. Students will be eligible for free merchandise, as well as have a night out to watch hometown baseball and celebrate their university with their peers.

The theme night takes place on Friday, April 19, and that evening,  the Kansas City Royals will take on the Baltimore Orioles.

Sophomore Elliott Smith is excited to attend the event after the success of last year’s, “It’s so fun to get out and into the city.”

A co-branded Royals and UMKC jersey was available last year for fans to pick up with the themed ticket.

The design of the sweatshirt for this year’s game differs from the previous one. Shown is last year’s blue jersey design.

What was a blue jersey with yellow striping on the sleeves sporting the Royals logo on the front and “Go Roos!” on the back is now a simple yellow crew neck with the word “college” on the front and KC Athletic’s logo on the sleeves.

March marked the anniversary of UMKC’s three-year partnership with the Royals.

Sophomore earth and environmental science major Taylor Trudell is interested in finding out the benefits of the partnership and how things will change for students.

This year’s UMKC Night at the K will feature the premiere of a brand partnership ad made by media and communications students along with the Royals’ creative agency, the Pine Tar Collective.

Tickets starting at $23, along with the design of the merch, can be found here.
