The Kansas City Roo men’s soccer team loses 2-4 against the Denver Pioneers in the Summit League Championship game.
Denver started the game out strong, scoring in the first two minutes of the game.
Kansas City would respond around the 24 minute mark with a penalty kick by junior forward Jeremy Francou to tie the game at one a piece.
Denver would break that tie around the 37 minute mark with a penalty kick to make the score 2-1 heading into halftime.
During the 64 minute mark, Denver scored, leading by two. They would score again just 3 minutes later, taking a commanding 4-1 lead over the Roos.
With about 16 minutes left, Francou secured a header, making the game 2-4.
Despite some great plays and two goals from Francou, the team failed to achieve victory over the number one seed team in the Summit League.
Hope is not lost for the team as heads turn to the Selection Show on November 17th. The Roos are expected to make the NCAA Tournament regardless of the loss.
