Kansas City enters the weekend as the fourth seed in the Summit League Conference Tournament and will be taking on fifth seed South Dakota for a chance to play in the semifinals.

These two have already faced off twice this season, with the Roos winning both matchups. South Dakota enters the contest 18-11 overall and 11-7 in conference, and the Roos enter just slightly better at 19-11 overall record and 12-6 in conference.

Both of these teams will be playing to keep their March Madness hopes alive, as realistically only one Summit League team will be appearing in the contest.

One of these two teams will face the winner of the contest between first seed South Dakota State (27-4) and eighth seed Omaha (5-24). The current line on that contest is SDSU -23.0, indicative of just how tough it has been to take down the Jackrabbits this season.

Kansas City enters the tournament coming off a gut wrenching 86-75 home loss to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits that saw Josiah Allick drop 21 points and seven rebounds. South Dakota is coming off an impressive 92-87 road win over last year’s conference tournament winner Oral Roberts.

Guard Evan Gilyard has shot an absurd 16-28 (57%) against the Coyotes this season while averaging 25.5 points in the two matchups this season, something surely the Coyotes have been prepping for ahead of this contest.

The game is Sunday, March 6, at 6 p.m. at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
