The Roos are gearing up for an exciting six game schedule this fall.
Kansas City is going up against familiar schools such as Johnson County Community College and Butler Community College, but there is one school in particular that head coach Kiki Stokes O’Connor is eager to see.
“Mizzou is always a fun one for us,” said Stokes O’Connor. “It’s nice to see what we have and see a little bit of what they have, it’s always a good matchup.”
Out of these six games, the Roos are playing five junior colleges, some of the top in the nation. Stokes O’Connor loves the idea of playing these competitive teams because she believes it can benefit her team in numerous ways.
“Being able to play and recruit at the same time is a huge win for us,” said Stokes O’Connor.
All games for the Roos are unofficial exhibition games and will not affect the team’s record. This gives them some flexibility when it comes game time.
“It allows us to see our roster,” said Stokes O’Connor. “They are going to help us get ready and prepare for the spring.”
Every game will be played at home. Stokes O’Connor believes that home field advantage is huge and she is grateful that her team doesn’t have to travel.
“They get to have the luxury of not having to get on the road,” said Stokes O’Connor. “It makes a difference, that’s for sure.”
All games are being played at KC Urban Youth Academy. It is also free admission to all games so come out and support our Roos as they take the field this fall.
