The Kansas City women’s basketball team secured its first-ever bid to the NCAA Division I tournament before its cancellation yesterday due to coronavirus concerns.

The Roos finished as WAC regular-season champions and automatically qualified following the cancellation of the men’s and women’s WAC Tournaments.

Before the cancellations, the Roos had reached the WAC Tournament’s semifinal round following a 82-56 victory over Chicago State.

The NCAA has now suspended all spring semester sports.

UNews will have more information as it becomes available.
