The Kansas City Roos women’s basketball team took on the Saint Mary Spires on Sunday.
While the game was only an exhibition, it was over only minutes in. The Roos got off 18 straight points before the Spires found the net.
It wouldn’t be until 2:17 remaining in the game that Saint Mary reached 18 points.
The first quarter ended 25-3 in favor of Kansas City, and the defense never let up from there.
Kansas City ran out of time before it could reach 100 points, but the 98-21 victory was something to celebrate.
Neither head coach Dionnah Jackson-Durrett nor any players were made available for comment after the game.
Women’s basketball begins its regular season on Monday, Nov. 4 against Utah State. The team has its home opener on Nov. 9 against William Jewell. Single-game and season tickets can be found here.
