The Roos only have four more regular season games until the Summit League Championship Tournament. With a record of 6-5-3 the team is looking to finish the regular season on a high note.
Graduate student defender Sophia Limongi is confident in her team. Despite being 0-4 in conference, Limongi knows what it takes to win.
“During our non-conference games we started out really well,” said Limongi. “We are working on cleaning some stuff up and hopefully changing some things around.”
Redshirt junior forward Madison Page has the same goal.
“We still have more to give and prove in our conference season,” said Page. “We have been doing everything this week to prepare for our upcoming games.”
Every team faces adversity and challenges. It’s up to the players to identify those obstacles so they can improve. Page has an idea of what needs to happen in the coming weeks.
“We are playing the other team’s game,” said Page. “If they are a possessive team, we will end up playing to that. When we play our way, we end up being the better team on the field.”
Returning players serve as a huge aspect in a team’s success. Understanding what is expected and being comfortable in certain moments is something Limongi is happy to have on the team.
“We have a large number of returners that have helped mold the newcomers,” said Limongi. “We are trying to help the new players integrate into the team as best as we can.”
The Roos are facing up with some familiar faces in this final stretch of the season. Oral Roberts and Omaha are some of the teams Page is excited to see.
“Those teams have had some really good performances,” said Page. “It makes me excited to see how we are going to do up against them.”
There is just about a month left in the season. This is the last time on the turf for some Roos. Limongi happens to be one of those players. She plans on giving it her all for this last month.
“I just want to end the season playing as hard as I can,” said Limongi. “Overall, having no regrets and taking it all in.”
The Roos have two more home games left of the regular season. All games are played at Durwood Stadium.
