Intramural sports are a popular pastime for students at UMKC. From badminton to pickleball, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the program, and it brings together students from all backgrounds to compete and enjoy themselves.

“Intramural sports are more recreational and more for fun, but also an opportunity for students to get some sort of competitive atmosphere in doing sports they played as a kid or back in high school,” said Austin Schilt, an Intramural Supervisor at UMKC.

Each year, dozens of teams sign up for the intramural soccer league, and the games are always packed with energy and excitement. Players of all skill levels take the field, from seasoned veterans reliving their glory days to beginners who are just learning the game. This mix of experience levels makes for thrilling and unpredictable competition.

Soccer is a sport that is beloved by people around the globe, and UMKC’s intramural program reflects that diversity. Students are able to bond over their shared love of the game.

Intramural sports are a great way for students to stay active, make new friends and have fun. It’s a welcoming and inclusive community that encourages people to get involved and try something new.

“My favorite part is it’s just fun,” Schilt said. “Everyone is just out here having a good time.”

Whether you’re a seasoned soccer player or just looking for a new hobby, intramural sports at UMKC is an excellent choice. For more information about intramural sports, email Casey Davison, Director of Intramural Sports for UMKC at [email protected].
