As students make their way around campus, it’s important to bundle up for the below freezing temperatures, but even with the chill in the air, they are not sacrificing their own personal style.
Campus is full of variety when it comes to individual style. Whether it’s chunky scarves, oversized sweaters or personal accessories that make the outfit, students on campus are making sure that their style is not overlooked by the numbing cold.
Kamara Winda, a sophomore majoring in nursing, says that while nursing school makes it hard for her to accessorize her outfits, she still finds ways to incorporate them when she can.
“I usually have bracelets on, I like to have necklaces on, I love to have my nails,” said Winda. “That really makes a difference with my outfits, especially in the winter because if you’ve got the accessories you can make anything look good.”
Aliyah Wahlen, a freshman majoring in pharmacy, says that she is a big accessories person along with layering her outfits.
“I have accessories whether it’s my purse or statement earrings,” said Wahlen. “I would have five pairs of pants under what I’m actually wearing, but I’m still going to make it look cute.”
Myles Tarvin, a freshman on the golf team, says that he recommends layering.
For some, dressing cute can be fun, but some students prefer to take a more relaxed route to staying warm.
“I usually wear two to three sweatpants,” said Tarvin. “We have morning workouts and it’s especially cold then. The other day I wore two pairs of sweatpants and two jackets.”
