The UMKC women’s soccer team mounted a comeback to earn a 3-2 victory over Baker University on Saturday afternoon at Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field (DSSRF). The Roos’ scored all three of their goals in the second half.

Junior Laura Creason bounced a penalty into the lower-left corner after freshman Ashley Gann was dragged down in the box by a Baker defender. Gann was instrumental in much of the Roos’ attack during the afternoon.

Freshman Taylor Bare provided the go-ahead goal with a strong shot under a diving keeper after freshman Jordan Andrzejewski showed excellent skill to control the ball and give Bare an accurate through-ball to set up the goal.

The final goal was scored when freshman Audrey Barnard won a collision with the Baker goalkeeper and watched the ball ricochet off her knee and into the goal. The Baker goalkeeper was shaken up on the play and was replaced.
