1. Ernie Bigg’s Piano Bar, 4115 Mill St., Kansas City, Mo.

Apparently, Ernie Biggs Piano Bar really is “Kansas City’s Favorite Piano Bar!”
Great bands and great booze cement this bar as the best of Kansas City. The Piano Bar has piano duels and free flowing booze that is very well priced, especially if one pays attention to the daily specials. The daily alcohol deals are some of the best in the city. On Wednesday nights, they offer $1 wells and drafts along with their live dueling pianos and on Sunday nights, there is no cover charge , $1 PBR pints and $3 whiskeys.
Ernie Biggs Piano Bar in Westport is open Sunday through Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

2. Mike’s Tavern, 5424 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Mo.

Mike’s Tavern has been a staple for UMKC students based on its location within easy walking distance of campus and its friendly atmosphere. The quirky bar is a mix between an Irish neighborhood pub and a college hangout.
The small bar can fill up quickly however, especially on weekends, so prepare for crowds. The outdoor patio in the back is a great laid-back place to grab a beer after class and hang out. Mike’s has karaoke on Thursdays and the place is equipped with arcade games like skeeball and darts. This is a great bar for any European sport lover, as they show international soccer and rugby games.
Mike’s is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Mike’s kitchen is open Monday from 3- 9 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

3. Kelly’s Westport Inn, 500 Westport Rd., Kansas City, Mo.

Kelly’s is a Kansas City staple and its inclusion on this list is not at all surprising. It has been around and making life better for college students since 1947. Their weekday happy hour is one of the longest, going from 3-7 p.m. During happy hour domestic pints are only $2.50, and Boulevard, Fat Tire and Blue Moon pints are only $3. They also have nighttime specials from 9 p.m. to closing time that vary from night to night. Tuesday is Irish night, where all Irish drafts are $1 off. In nice weather, order an Irish car bomb and relax on the rooftop deck.

Kelly’s is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
